The design-build project for Building 1140, Military Housing Office, was a 3,000 square feet administrative building with offices, reception, storage and rest rooms. The project entailed renovation of the exterior and interior of the building which required total interior demolition. The main entrance was renovated with engineered hardwood floors, trimmed windows, a chandelier, and a screened back porch with swings. Included in the project were a new HVAC system, standing seam metal hip roof, new electrical system, comm/data lines, renovated restrooms, conference room, kitchenette, and a full vaulted stepped octagonal ceiling.

The existing roof was a flat concrete built up roof. A new standing seam metal hip roof was installed on top of the existing roof. New front entrance and back porch canopies were also installed matching the roof. The existing concrete masonry unit exterior wall was covered with a stucco finish.

Prior to installation of the new roof system, the overhead high voltage power distribution system was required to be rerouted underground. This required installation of new electrical manholes and handhole boxes. The electrical service was routed to Building 1140 and to the two adjacent buildings 799 and 1075.

Since the two adjacent buildings were in such close proximity to Building 1140, a modification was issued to install similar standing seam metal hip roofs on both Building 799 and 1075. Both buildings received a matching stucco outer finish the same as Building 1140.
